Weight Tool is not working properly

Hello, I’m trying to fix the weight using the weight tool, but it looks like I’m doing something wrong, because I can’t change the weight, although the color is visible when I select a joint.

I’ve created a rig using a bird template then I’m trying to fix the weights.

Does Anyone know what is happening?

Thanks

Hi Studio Sixty Four,

I hope I can get it from the image, a scene file is normally the best way to communicate.

If a point has 100% from one joint, then nothing else has (nor should have) typically any influence on that specific point. With the Auto Normalizer on, as well as a 100% Subtraction as setting, the algorithm has no idea what to do, as nothing else had any influence before, so, where to place it.

Switch the Auto Normalizer off and try again.( If that doesn’t work, check the Selection. If nothing else works, just try the Visible option, which I would exclude, but just in case.)

As I try to check everything with the current release, here is a screen-capture, as I had no file, I hope this showcases it. (Screen-capture #400)

It’s just a sketch.

More about it, here:

In other words, you might be able to add for a different joint weight, while the Auto Normalizer is on. It will take that from the points that had 100% before.
I try to showcase this here, while per point has 100% from one joint, subtraction is impossible, with Auto Normalizer. After adding a little amount from another Joint, Subtract works, with Auto Normalizer active.

My best wishes

Hi Dr. Sassi

Auto Normalizer off was the solution.

Thanks for your time and help!

Thanks for the update, Studio Sixty Four.

I hope the project is running smoothly now.

Sorry about my delay in answering, but I was “on the road” for a few days.

Cheers.
