Hi

Im setting up the visual selector and in both the manual and videos on here there is a icon mode, but in more recent version of C4D its missing.  This means when I drag n drop a controller directly onto me visual image I have no way to change the icon?

I figured it out just after I posted it, its quite hidden with a right click on the icon.

Thanks, Dan

Hi Dan,

Thanks for updating your own question.

Dragging an icon from the Object Manager works while holding down shift.

In the tag Properties, there is a little Star on the right side, if clicked on it, while in Hotspot and edit mode, a collection of icons appears, or one can use the Folder (lower right) to load new images.

All the best

Thanks for the reply.  While Im here do you know if its possible to make a hotspot select a object in the object manager.  Im thinking along the lines of select the root null to show user data sliders?

Im very impressed with the abilities this has like Alt paint, very handy and well thought out.

Thanks, Dan

Dan, that might be possible with a Pythonscript, but I’m not aware of it, nor did I found one. Perhaps you have more luck:

To get an Object activated use the command 1028155, please have a look at this screen capture or just check out the file. Also: ID 1029818 “Show in Attribute Manager”. BTW, the ID can stay, However, I like to delete the two letters.

Please note that you can drag nearly any parameter as HUD into the interface, it will (by default) show up only while the object is active.

If you work for a long time with only User Data, you might select in one object the User Data Tab (or selveral tabs) then use the Lock Mode:
Lock Mode
Activating this option (or clicking on the icon with the two circles at the top right of the Manager) will ensure that only the modes / parameters currently open will continue to be displayed, regardless of which tools are subsequently selected.
