Basic Axis Question

Hello,
Is there a way to scale multiple polygon objects from there own axis’s at the same time?
Or better yet, is there a way to have more than one axis on an object?
An example would be keys on a keypad and all the keys are the same shape and one object. Is there a way to scale all the keys from there own axis even though they are one object? I did modeling in Max before Cinema so kind of thinking like scaling elements of an object in 3dsMax.

Thanks,
Johnny Adim

Hi Johnny Adim,

Here is a little idea, not knowing your model, but as long as the caps of the keyboard are not just on connected mesh, this could work.
Please have a look (60seconds long)

Besides that: have you tried “Normal Scale”? Normal Move? It might work or not, again –since I have no idea about your model.

Each model has one axis, as the points of the model relates to that axis.

If you could share an example, I can have a look at it and perhaps have another idea.

All the best

Thanks Dr. Sassi!
I tried both of the approaches and they’re both exactly what I was trying to do.

Thanks for the feedback, Johnny.

Sounds good.

I assumed of course that it is one single object containing several none connected parts. If it would be a group of objects, all being selected, while the Scale tool and its options are in the Attribute Manager: then go to Object Axis and check the Per Object Manipulation.

My best wishes
