Thanks Sassi, Yes I don’t know what was happening there with the neck. I thought it was happening in a repeatable fashion, but once I tried the straight FBX exporter everything seems OK. Being new to character animation I was just erring on the side of caution. I didn’t want to get a week down the road and find my rig was broken. or something else I did to it broke it. For now, I think its OK. I’ve been working on improving the weight maps this morning. I’ve discovered the “smoothing” mode and its working wonders. What I’m finding is that my original weight maps were OK, but once I start putting him into more “extreme” positions, like sitting or laying I need to adjust the weight maps to bring him back into shape. smile

Glad to hear you enjoyed the party. I saw one of your 360 images briefly last night. I’ll take a closer look onceI have some more time. smile

Thanks again for looking at this for me! You;re the best. smile

Thanks for the reply, Michael,

If you have a moment, I hope that will accelerate your weighting work:

Yes, character animation is a real job in its own rights, even if it got so much simpler in the past two decades, some knowledge and skills are needed. But I can always rely on Bret’s great content, if in doubt: Listen to him.

I would always suggest to stress test a rig, to go that extra step further, and in combination, to either know the limits of a rig, or fix the limitations.

Enjoy your weekend
