Learning about C4D hair

Hello, I am learning about making a nice hair style using C4d. I was just thinking, attempting to brush the hair is quite an adventure and the guides can become quite a mess which the only way I know to fix is the select the stray, bent guides and straighten them to try to redo the brushing.

My thought is this, I always want to start with all the guides nicely point in a certain direction, not at the normals of the polys. What if you could have a null target for the brush which would point to the direction the guides should go. Then no matter how much you brush, you are making the hair guides strive towards the null. So eventually all the guides are in line. Instead of the target null, perhaps you can designate direction (for example y-direction).

Is this already possible or am I not understanding how to brush the hair?

Hi vytas_rauckis,

You can go to Attribute Manager>>Guides>Growth>Direction->Axis:Y
Note, if you chose “Local” then the object axis is ruling the XYZ direction, so changing the object Axis (not the object itself, allows for all directions. L key)

Perhaps an alternative would be, as shown in the one minute clip below:
