Hello All! I am trying to create a ground fracture where as it seems to crack apart and then stop in that state and then crack apart more and then settle and then eventually crumble into the center… I have a scene file that I started with but it seems to be an all or nothing type effect where I have it currently (See attached)

Here is what I am attempting to create effect wise.

Thank you for your help!

Hi Ben,

No file attached, and would you mind to specify a time in that clip. Perhaps, is it the the “XPLODE-test.c4d” from 2015, this one I have here.
We had this floor in the works before, I remember

Have you seen the series:

Are you on R19 already?

All the best

My apologies Yes that is what I was working from…but cannot get the crumble to start and stop keeping originating crumble…and then fall inward… as is shown in the link above at about the 2 sec mark or so (basically after the masking on effect

Here is what was supposed to be attached:

Thanks for the file, Ben, and the exact time for the clip.

So, I assume R19.

I will have a look into it.

Please have a look at this sketch, Ben.

There are two file, just with a little bit timing difference.

I assume that two linear falloffs might work better, after the center is “broken”, but that is an artist call. The timing is crucial to get closer to the clip you had linked.

Let me know if we should go further with this.

All the best

You’re very welcome, Ben.

I have set up another file, to go more into detail about the dynamic progress in the scene. Simplified to allow for an easier exploration. Please note that an Spline can be used as source for a fall off as well, just a thought.
