Rig/joint orientation issue

Hello,

I’ve set up a simple rig using the IK spline tag. Everything worked well in the initial tests but when I push it further (and go a little crazy with it) the orientation of the joints end up staying in these coordinates after an undo or reset of the controller. I’ve included a screen recording in the following link that should help illustrate this.

Thanks!

Hi spencerokada,

I can see that it is twisted. The resolution of the clip doesn’t allow at all to read anything in the Object manager.

Would you mind sharing this file? I tried to compare it to an earlier file I have from you, but it doesn’t match.

All the best

Thanks for the file, spencerokada.

To get back to the state where it was bind, click once on the Weight Tag and in then Attribute Manager>Tag>Reset Bind Pose.

What I found is, that the joints are not aligned. Have a look at joint gr_core_J it has a R.P value of 116.877ยบ.
Disable the Skin Deformer and align your joints. Then Weight Tag>Attribute Manager>Tag>Set Bind Pose.
Activate the Skin Deformer.

Please have a look as well about the Twist:

In the moment I set it to Object, I have problems to recreate the effect you describe above. If set to none it is much easier to recreate this.
Uncheck the Skin Object, set the Twist to Object, IN the Weight Tag Set Bind Pose, Activate the skin.

I hope that helps

All the best
