Mograph Dynamics baking issue

Hello.  I have a mo-graph dynamic simulation where cylinders and dropping into a pot from frame -250 to 0 and then after frame 0 they fire out of the pot onto the floor.  I have cached the sim so it plays perfectly in the viewport and in a hardware render but when I render the full quality sequence the simulation is out of sync and doesn’t match the same timings as in the hardware render or viewport.  Does anyone know why this might be happening?  No third party render engines, only thing I can think of is an issue with the sim starting before frame 0.  I’m using C4D 16.011

Hi Matt,

I have send you an upload link via PM (Cineversity Private Message).

Please note that you are not on the latest version of R16, which is available here.

Have you tried to start at frame zero? How do you entered the -250 into the Render Settings? If that is at all a question here, as those frames are for prep only AFAIK.

All the best

P.S.:

This file works fine for me, considering frames from 0 to 100.

Hi Matt,

Since I check mostly everything over an d over again, I had rebuilt your scene and got a different result. I made a test scene and in that I couldn’t really get your problem.

So, I had to delete my previous answer, as I was not correct, I had run into the same problem as you did. It is kind of hidden.

Your Preview and Export settings are not in sync, fps wise: The Preview has a Render Setting of 30fps while in Hardware, and the Export while in Physical was in 25 fps. At the moment I see here the problem. Is that working for you if you sync the 25 vs 30?

All the best
