Mental block? I cannot figure out how to get a HUD in R 19

I am certain in an earlier version of C4D there was a view port menu item which I could use to configure a permanent HUD in my new.c4d file, displaying the name of the selected object, the number of polygons, points and edges ... and also the number of selected polygons, points or edges. I am currently doing a lot of complex polygon modelling, and I would like to use this or a similar HUD again, it makes error checking/avoidance on-the-fly easier .... but I cannot see how to configure it in R 19

cheers

Hi Günther,

It works here fine. Since I have not even s little scene file here, I can’t see or say anything. Guessing is not really the way to go.
For editor view [alt+V]
But make certain the Menu: Editor View>> Options> Configure All… >>Attribute Manager>Filter>HUD [checked] then HUD>Information is all set to your needs.

Eventually click in the viewport HUD and set your wishes, in case it shows up.

Rendering [cmd+B]
Main Menu: Render> Render Settings>>Render Settings>Options>Render HUD [checked]

If that doesn’t help, perhaps check with the support.

All the best

thanks, Sassi, I got it - I don’t remember having to configure it in the Attributes Manager. I hope this mental block thing won’t get worse as I get older…....

You’re welcome, Günther!

Don’t get used to the believe in a mental block: It might end up being a self fulfilling prophecy. wink

ENJOY
