Custom Viewport HUD & Take System

I’ve added Title/Action safe buttons to my perspective viewport HUD so that I can quickly turn them on and off. A problem I’ve come across is that they become grayed out and unusable when using a Take other than the default “Main” take. And they do not have the option to Override. Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong?

Hi Matt,

I was not aware of this problem, nor do I use these Title or Action safe option.
Anyway, yes I can reproduce it. If I go to a Take other than the original, then the HUD grays out.

Please have a look here:

Scene file

Based on Expression> Set Driver/Set Driver Absolute to connect the Title Save with an User Data.

One has to drag the Null (containing the User Data) in each Take to make it work, but as a nice side effect, now it is possible of course to rename the Null in each Take and have so an indicator in which take the scene is.

If you want to get in contact with the support about that, please do:

My best wishes

You’ve always got a solution to everything Dr. Sassi! This will be a good temporary fix smile I will send a report to Maxon.

Thanks!

Thanks a lot, Matt.

If you contact them, perhaps suggest to have a Command option as we have for the Picture Viewer. So one can customize the interface and is done with it, no HUD set up, and the option for a short cut is given as well.

Matt, If you are comfortable with loading and using Python Scripts, this might do the trick:
https://github.com/990adjustments/CenterCut/blob/master/centerCut.py
It does more, but perhaps deleting stuff out and get this one (Test it wisely, as I’m not supporting Python here, not my strength)

Cineversity provides tutorials (Python Script) which provides the steps to create an Icon for it, so it would work as an Interface item.
How do I found it, I dragged the parameter into the Console, copied it and searched the web.

Cheers

Fingers crosse that this will proved all you need. I tested it with Takes of course, and the Icon dragged in my user interface (saved as such) allows me to toggle it.
