Hello,
and sorry for using Softimage/xsi(SI) as the reference!
But is there something similar like this?:

e.g.. multi objects with alignToSpline-Tag and i need to split these objects(nulls) on the lenghts of the spline evenly!

With the Cloner i can create this very easy but the result (in this case 10clones)  gives me only one null!
I need “real” Nulls because i will use these nulls later for binding!

So in SI there it is possible to multiselect e.g. 10 Objects (secondPicture!:divide by selection.png) (already align to Spline) and put these nulls evenly on the Spline by typing into the Position value (SI Path %usage) this little formula L(100)  L=linear !this will divide the pathlenghts by the selected number of Objects and will move the nulls like in Picture(divide by selection_result.png)!

Thanks in Advance

Hi FIFTYEIGH,

That would be the Main Menu> Tools> Arrange Objects> Arrange.

You wrote “… nulls later for binding!” Perhaps you have as well a look into:

Main Menu> Character> Conversations> [Pick what you might need from the “Flight Out Menu”].
This might be highly dependent on the set up for the Spline, e.g., the points of the splines available.

A little clip (one minute, download it fora better viewing experience):

Please note, I pull the menu out just so the name stays longer on the screen. This is not needed, even a short cut would do.

You can also create this with XPresso, or build with Python your very own Plug-In.

If you come from Softimage, you naturally feel tempted to search for tools, functions and options that you where used to. But you might have a better progress by just describing what you have {to start with] and what you need.
Just my experience doing this “mentoring” stuff since quit a while. But feel free to describe what you were used to, and we hopefully find what the equivalent is.

All the best

Hello Dr.Sassi,
thanks again for the quick reply,
the Arrange-Tool is similar and good to now that this Tool exist in C4d ,
so every answer from You is a step further!
The only thing what i now missing is, that in SI it was possible to Arrange multiselected Objects to every value in this case (similar to)C4d AlignToSpline-Tag ,
so I want in C4d X-selected Nulls witch are align to a Spline and than evenly arranged on the lenght of the spline , when using the C4d-Arrange then i can use a spline but the nulls are “only” transformed” along the spline, so changing the splineshape will not effect anymore the nulls.
to precis or describe what i need : arrange multi selected objects along/align a spline and after the command they still align on the spline .

I found a solution!

Working with the IK-Spline!

Thanks again

Hi Walter,

Was that the meaning for “later binding” then?

Nice that you found something that works for you!

BTW, if you need many objects along a spline and keep them attached, that could be done with XPresso. But it is not as comfortable as something that works right “out of the box”.

(BTW.  attachement ...?

All the best

Sorry here we go smile(not zipped!)
And Yes, will use the nulls for binding .

Perfect, Walter.

I thought the file was a question, while not having it. But is was an answer already. grin

It seems, that you have explored the differences between Nulls and Joints in detail, and keep the Nulls for specific reasons.

Leaves me to wish you all the best for your project.
