Siggraph 2015 Rewind - Bret Bays: Weighting Workflows for Cinema 4D Character Animation

Hey guys,

I’m painting the weights in the same way Bret suggested in the Siggraph rewind 2015 video (what I’m trying to do is around the 37 min mark: https://www.cineversity.com/vidplaytut/siggraph_2015_rewind_bret_bays_weighting_workflows_for_cinema_4d_character).

Here’s my issue. When I go into edge or point mode while in an animated pose, it will automatically pop the rig back to it’s default pose. The animation moves correctly when I go to model mode but it’s annoying having to go from model mode to edge mode over and over.

I’ve recorded my screen to an 11mb video with an example of what’s going on if it helps. Wasn’t able to attach it to this thread.

Hi spencerodaka,

In the viewport, go to Options> Configure All [Alt+V]> Attribute Manger> Display> Deformed Editing.

Note that this mode is not always the best idea while modeling and using deformers, so it might be not always a good idea to keep it on.

BTW, if there is a problem with the tutorial or a question, use the “Help with this Tutorial” Button left sided to the tutorial and please do not alter the headline, thanks. This will keep things organized.
