Hi thanulee.

I have very little information about what you want to do. I assume flickering means, SDS is on, and while nothing is selected you have that red-green alternation?

In the editor view, this stops when I drag the material from the ‘banana-object’ to the SDS.

The Interactive Render Region gives me the color and displacement then.

Let me know if that fixes the problem.

All the best

I think my c4d is totally bugged out today smile i just restarted and all fixed.
One more thing here so i wont open new thread. The displacement here doesnt match with my vertex map. Why is that?

Thanulee,

Please have a look here:

I used the Vertex map in the Shading, and all is fine.

Have a nice Sunday

Thanulee,

You should be able to use it in the way you intended. But somehow this particular model was broken. I was only able to make it work without the falloff. It was not meant to suggest that it has to be that way.

My suggestion, when you have a problem with your computer and all act weirdly as you mentioned, check your hard-drive. I hope I’m wrong with that. Otherwise, I hope you have some backups. Fingers crossed.

Anyway, I have set up a way to fix this, please have a look here:
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/c557ybIzoYCTdtiRrsFCo146Z3YOvpJkQwU8LlNjcJ2

After I created a new mesh, and used all tags and object newly, no copy and paste of previous material: Things work again.

All the best

Thanks a lot! Very weird cause i retopo-ed this mesh with volumes.
Something must be bugging c4d though. Cause if i add a curve on top of fields it completely bugs out once more. If i enable subfields halfway it works as intended. Then again it doesnt. See video below. Should i report it to maxon? cheers

Hi thanulee,

I can’t see the Curve in your screen capture. To know what happens that would have been crucial.

A curve takes all values of the full mesh. (In R21, you can mask this). Not just the values that are higher based on anything else, e.g., the Freeze. At the moment you apply a curve, you change the value of every single value. Since it is set to clamp, you might reduce given values to zero, or others that were zero before (or close to it) have then a higher value, perhaps 100%.

You can place your set up in a folder and apply the Curve on top of it inside the folder. Set the Curve to multiply, then values given to the Curve of zero will stay zero.

If you take a black and white image in Photoshop and use a curve on it with no change, the image will stay the same, but at the moment you reverse the Curve, the picture looks like a B&W negative film.

You’re very welcome, thanulee, thanks for the reply.

Clamp is in various places.

The main Clamp for anything is the little clamp icon in the lower right corner of the layer field. If this is set to being active values will stay between 0% and 100%, no matter what.
https://help.maxon.net/us/#FLCLAMP-FLBASE

The Clamp options for the curve itself:
There are two options to define the end values of the curve, while the curve is offset. If the offset value is zero, then they are not affecting anything. At the moment it is offset, those options might influence the result heavily.
