I was trying in R19, in R20 its much easier. Thanks for that.

Is it possible to scale spheres along vertex smoother, I mean smaller on edges and then bigger.

Regards.

HI Imran,

I assume you do use R20 already. If not please advice.

Yes, things have gotten much simpler with Fields. It is a new generation and I guess we will se a lot of new results and aesthetics on the screens around the world (Big words, I know, but I feel it this way.)

Here is a file that uses the Information of the Vertex Map to scale it. Which means the Visibility option (invisible to be precise can’t be used here), but the scale to -1 does the trick as well. BUT: it allows to scale the clones with a brush, lower values, smaller spheres (clones.)

Scene file (updated!)

Please let me know if there is anything else, I’m happy to look into it.

Cheers

P.S.: YOu might check as well the Scale apart from the Push Apart effector, as an option to quickly fine-tune the results.

sorry… I am not seeing any scale effect, it looks same as last file.

I did more subdivides and did vertex smoother to make soft scaling from outside to inside.
From Plain, visibility off and scale -1, all spheres disappears from vertex area appear on all over capsule.

scaling sphere on vertex area from outside smaller to inside bigger…?

Thanks.

Please check again and sorry for the trouble.

Here is an example with the Push Apart Effector.

I tried push apart effector but it scales all, I need only edges area smaller spheres and then smoothly bigger spheres inside vertex area.

Thanks.

Imran, did the file CV2_r20_drs_18_MGvm_12.c4d worked for you? Paint around the borders with a lower value, I used “25 % add” in the other file.

If you have a fine mesh, the details are nicer of the map, but the gradients are too short to get really noticed, Paint one time around with Absolute 30% for example.

Yes the Push Apart does this in that setting. Then please ignore that idea.

All the best

Cool. I hope you get the clones in the way you like to have them, Imran.

Here is a screen shot:

You might check the Average Mode in the Fields options for the Vertex Map to smooth it out.
More in detail, here (screen capture, one minute)
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/JlM6737rHTrFycB2WtdWTGnzJxGS1TSStCvnpmBhTxm

(It should work as well with a Shader Effector and a Texture, like from BodyPaint3D.)

My best wishes for your project!
