Hi, i’m a basic user of cinema 4d and have been asked to do something that is testing my somewhat limited knowledge. i have a length of plate steel that is attached to a wall on one end, and a bulldozer attached to the other end. as the bulldozer slowly moves toward the wall, the plate steel bends up in the middle (high tensile strength), but stays attached to both ends.
using the bend deformer causes all kinds of unexpected results.  does anyone know how i should approach this?

thanks for any help.

Hi tomb,

Perhaps a Collision Deformer. Please have a look at the scene file:
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/CB7v3T47KZXT8bq6rGBOGJI4Z3A5fxtoX10L9jv1Aw7

Keep in mind, that the “collision” object can be invisible, and create so the shape you would like to have from the Collision Deformer for the steel-plate.

There are quite some nice options in this kind of set up.

Have a look here to gain some ideas:

Please let me know if you need something else.

Cheers
