Hi, I didn’t realize that FBX will not contain Object Properties animation. Is there a way to bake or export FBX with Object Properties included? i.e. Outer Radius, Inner Radius. Or are there a way to get around this? Thank you.

Hi Artefact,

FBX can’t export generated objects, e.g., a Torus Object, those get converted into polygons.

What is your target?

All the best

I need to provide Unity developer with the FBX animation. I already finished the animation but using the properties that come with the object but once I exported the FBX then I realized that FBX didn’t contain Object property info. The worst case I can revise the animation using the Coordinates but just wonder, Is there a faster way instead of re-animating it. Thank you very much for your quick response! Really appreciate.

Thanks for the additional information, artefact.

Please check with the Unity Artist if you can provide to him/her an Alembic file instead.

Perhaps send an example. (An example that you have saved and merged back to C4D to know that the animation was exported successfully.)

Fingers crossed it will work for you.

Cheers

He’s never used Alembic before +I ended up starting the revise the animation using coordinate which is much faster than I expected. Thank you very much again DR.Sassi!

Nice that you got it sorted out, artefact.

Alembic has so many more advantages, and given my last read of Steve Wrights Compositing book (4th edition), he is certain that it will be the next leading exchange format for the VFX industry. I think so as well.

Unity has it in its newest update. Though, I just downloaded the 2018.1 to see how it works.

My best wishes
