Is there a way to give each letter of a MoGraph MoText object a separate color?

I can make a separate MoText object for each letter and than give each object a separate color. But is there a way to have one MoText and still give each letter a separate color?

Oh yes, I’m working with Cinema Broadcast R19.

Hi henkstolker,

There are two main ways to get color on each letter: “Index Ratio” or color based. Yes color as in grayscale (if that is a color) or color directly.

Please have a look at the three examples below, a short overview clip (one minute) is included as well:

The index requires from each Clone an ID, which is typically given. To supply a gray-value first or a color directly has other options.

• The main ways to influence the clone colors are given with the Effectors.

• The main Shaders to have the colors in the render results are the MoGraph-Color Shader and the MoGraph Multi Shader. Please note that the example uses in the Multi-Shader a “normal” Color Shader, which is differnt from the MoGraph Color Shader.

The Multi Shader can take shaders, and textures (clips) for each and sort them via ID or color information.
Note that the ID has a selection option in MoText. See screen shot:

Please let me know if there is anything else, I’m happy to look into it. Perhaps attach a scene file (zipped)!

All the best

P.S.: Not directly based on your question, but just in case it could be useful, the MoText as some other objects allow for a pre-defined selection: C1; C2; R1; R2.

Example file:

The layering of Materials/Texture Tags works from the right (top) to the left (direct surface), i.e., selection based must be more right sided than the base/overall color.
