lock objects rotation to the image plane

I have a scene with a camera move - I have several pieces of text that I would like to place in various positions. I would like the text to always face perfectly aligned to the image plane. Target and Look at Camera tags don’t seem to be the answer as they point the object back towards the camera itself and not the image plane the camera creates when it renders.  Am I making sense? I have had some success using the camera deformer object along with a constraint tag but was hoping there is maybe a way using xpresso that is straight forward?

cheers

Hi AK,

Please provide a simple example scene. Is the camera used for camera projection or how does the image or the plane (both) are connected to the camera (visually)?
Image plane, perhaps the final image?

All the best

Thanks for the file, AK.

Here is your file back, limited to the parts needed to see how it works.
The idea is to use a Null Object for the Text and have the target working on it. This allows you to adjust the text orientation if needed, e.g., bring it closer to the camera (i.e., in front of the objects).

It can be done with the Freeze in a similar way, but to keep the original rotation point, the Null Parent is the key.

Let me know if that works for you (I leave the drop box open for now)

All the best

That makes sense - thanks! The link above takes me to a dropbox request page. Trying to figure out how to find the project file. Apologies for my lack of internet savy.
